So are all the English people supporting Manchester United against Roma tommorow?
Q. I hope you all are. You should all put club rivalries aside. Just think of it as The Premiership vs Serie A! Thank You :) @Azzuri Man Don't bet on it! :) Yeah of course maybe I'm supporting Chelsea. @Azzuri Man Its a different ball game and you know it Yeah I'll side with Chelsea and Arsenal. Sorry scousers :)

A. As an arsenal fan, it's pretty obvious that I don't support you in the premiere league. But in these circumstances, whenever there is an english team vs a different euro team(or any other country) I always go for the english team because they are representing here, England, and I like it when any premiere league team promote us as much as they can. Btw, that does mean if you yourself aren't a bitter rivalrist( if thats a word) than you shall be supporting Chelsea too, isn't that right?

Q. Do many people in Italy get mugged by Roma gypsies, and does the Church encourage the gypsies?
Asked by BobGoodrich - Thu Jul 17 16:26:11 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. why should the church encourage them??? The Pope only says what he's expected to say, which is that we have to help poor countries and poor emigrants, but that's all. anyway yes, gypsies are a social plague, but not only because they steal and disturb tourists and locals, but mainly because they hunger their children until they look like concentration camps survivors and then send them to beg, in order to impress people and to obtain more money. It's a real shame, and the authorities can't help but watch.

Asked by ADASDASD - Fri Aug 8 02:19:21 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Because hundreds of years ago there was a gradual migration of these peoples towards the West. Just as migration of other peoples occurred in other countries eg Slavs moved from Russia and populated the Balkans; Germans and Danes migrated to England. Over the history of humankind, just about every country in the world has accommodated a mass migration of people of different nationalities.

Can I grow roma tomatoes year around?
Q. If I dug up my roma tomato plant now and placed it in a large planter pot indoors by a lot of windows, will it continue to make delicious tomatoes? does the plant naturallly die within one year?
Asked by missy - Mon Oct 16 14:17:22 2006 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Many people have success with this, but as the days get darker earlier, it will respond to the lack of natural light, even though it is warm indoors, so supplement the light a few extra hours daily with a grow light found at your local Walmart. Side dress with fertilizer or water with compost tea, or just water weekly with a fertilizer-water mix, and good luck. You can get a lot of good info from your local master gardeners society (check for their website), or call your local home extension office. The site I use is www.tulsamastergardeners. org and there is a search on their page for questions.

Any good films depicting the enslavement of the Roma in the 19th/18th Century?
Q. As some may already know, the Romani people, or the "Gypsies", were used as slaves throughout Eastern Europe and were treated brutally as objects throughout the late 1700s and into the 1800s. Anyone know off the top of their head any good books or films depicting their plight in more detail? I know dozens of books and movies on African American & Jewish slavery, but none on Romani Slavery.
Asked by James R - Mon Oct 15 21:07:44 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Gypsies weren't treated as slaves or serfs in Russian Empire. They lived literally out of the society. Read Alexander Pushkin's poem " " (Gypsies) written in early 1800s.

How genetically distinctive are Ashkenazi Jews and Roma from Europeans?
Q. How much do European Jews resemble other Europeans and how much do they resemble Middle Easterners? The same for European Roma (Gypsies)--how much do they resemble other Europeans, and how much do they resemble people from the Indian subcontinent? I'm curious only about genotypes.
Asked by Irene F - Tue Apr 10 02:57:49 2007 - - 3 Answers - 1 Comments

A. Good question! The Romani more resemble the East Indians in genotype, however, the Romani migrated away from India long, long ago, so there is variance between us (I am one) and Indians today. If we had to be asked "do you look like the average European or do you look Indian", we look more Indian, for the most part. Most of us have darker skin, black or brown hair, black or brown eyes. Of course, not all of us are like that. My Clan, for instance, is known for the occasional violet eyed person. Not common, but it does occur. Blondes also occur in some Clans, but are not common. Personally, I think the blonde individuals are the result of old race mixing somewhere. The violet eyes were documented hundreds of years ago and are… [cont.]

This might sound like a silly question but are roma tomatoes and grape tomatoes the same thing?
Q. I eat grape tomatoes like crazy and decided to grow them myself to save money. I looked everywhere for a grape tomato plant and never found any. Roma tomatoes looked the closest and thats what I planted. Just hoping I got the right one. I know it sounds silly but I am serious with this. Thanks in advance :)
Asked by pj7232 - Mon Jun 9 14:49:03 2008 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Sorry to disappoint, but Roma tomatoes are not the same thing as grape tomatoes. Romas are smallish tomatoes about the size of plums or lemons. They are typically considered sauce tomatoes. Grape tomatoes, if I'm not mistaken, are much more like classic cherry tomatoes. If you still want to grow some of your own try a cherry variety (or grape if you can find one). Some that I have grown and liked include: Sweet 100, Hybrid Sweet 1000, Husky Cherry, Jelly Bean, and Yellow Pear tomato. Cherry tomato plants are great because they can easily be grown in a pot on your deck.

A. HISTORY Also at The Patrin Romani Web Journal, Ian Hancock, in his fascinating Roma Slavery , adds: "...Spain had already begun shipping Gypsies to the Americas in the 15th century; three were transported by Columbus to the Caribbean on his third voyage in 1498. Spain's later solution Americans involved the shipping of Gypsy slaves to its colony in 18th century Louisiana. An Afro-Gypsy community today lives in St. Martin's Parish, and reportedly there is another one in central Cuba, both descended from intermarriage between the two enslaved peoples. In the 16th century, Portugal shipped Gypsies as an unwilling labor force to its colonies in Maranhao (now Brazil), Angola and even India, the Roma's country of origin which they had… [cont.]

Why do my homegrown roma tomatoes taste mushy?
Q. I just grew some roma tomates and they are red and vine ready. I picked one to eat and it tasted mushy as if they have been rotting. I do live in Florida where it is very very hot. It is also June. This is the first time I have grown a garden in a warm environment. Any info is much appreciated. Should I just pick them when they are green due to the heat???
Asked by John - Tue Jun 3 12:21:50 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I believe they are mushy due to the heat in your area. I would recommend going to Lowes or Home Depot (or any gardening spot) and purchasing some of the screen shades for your crops. It is a green mesh tent thing that you construct over your plants to help protect them from too much sun. It allows some sun to hit the plant, but not enough to damage. As for picking, keep an eye on your tomatoes daily. Water at dusk instead of the morning time as the water could be burning the plants at the root. As soon as you see the tomato changing color (from Green to Red) pick the fruit and either place it in a paper bag or on your window sill to ripen. Good luck!

A. I think we can, we have had the upper hand in all our recent matches and thats to say the least. I'm more worried about the provocation of the Roma fans and players, who will play on the fact that we have had quite a heated recent history between the two clubs. It will be tough but i am confident we can proceed.
