I do not know what type of martial arts to do. It has to be defence but i dont want a really popular one like karate or tae kwan do. What would you suggest? Asked by sabres30goalie - Fri Mar 28 20:41:26 2008 - - 12 Answers - 1 Comments A. Hi there Sabres30goalie ! This is the most frequently asked question from people wanting to join and train in the martial arts for the first time and are clueless on what to do or which art to take. First and foremost, the internet is full of keyboard ninjas, MMA poseurs, and psuedo karate masters who thinks that they have all the answers you'll ever need. The problem with this is that they don't know you, so how can they determine what's good for you. The fact is only YOU can determined what's good for you. I can easily say oh, take Shorin ryu karate because .blah, blah, blah.. but I won t. Why ? Well for one, I don t know you and you don't know me. Second, telling you about my art is like selling you a used car over the phone. … [cont.] Answered by Prince Loeffler - Sat Mar 29 00:04:12 2008 At what age can I start my child on learning martial arts? Q. What is the best one to start with? Judo, Kick Boxing, Karate or another? I want my child to be able to defend herself in a street fight in case she is attacked. Just knowing one kind of traditional martial art is not effective enough during a street fight since anything goes when one is attacked. So I want my child to be able to successfully defend herself and put the attacker in the hospital for a LONG time. At what age and with what martial art form should she start? I heard the Judo is great to start with, then kick boxing and then later on Jiujutsu. I do appreciate the Traditional martial arts, but form my experience during hand to hand combat anything goes and it is best to know how to respond to various forms of fighting styles. Asked by teresalsmith72 - Wed Apr 11 14:31:44 2007 - - 28 Answers - 0 Comments A. "Teresa", Your question is a bit perplexing. At first you are asking for help in determining what age is best to start a child in martial arts, as if you have no knowledge of martial arts at all. Then you go into this discertation about the effectiveness of one art against another and how you want your daughter to "put the attacker in the hospital for a LONG time." Then you say that "from your experience during hand to hand combat anything goes and it is best to know how to respond to various forms of fighting styles." I think you are putting us on. I just don't know what you're trying to prove. You don't sound like a mom. Answered by j v - Wed Apr 11 16:11:33 2007 can anyone start a martial arts system? Do you need any special qualifications?
Q. I have martial arts skills, but no qualifications. I want to start a class for women in the UK. Using my not so honourable technique.LOL:) Do I need qualifications? Asked by Shingen - Wed Mar 25 12:25:10 2009 - - 20 Answers - 3 Comments A. There are already some excellent answers to this question so I'll just ask one? If you wanted to learn to play the piano, would you go to a grade one piano player for your instruction? No? Well, why would you go to an untrained martial artist for your martial arts instruction? It is traditional, when someone sets themself up in a town as a martial arts instructor, for that person to be willing to take on the students of other similar martial arts who might challenge him to "give them a lesson". If you are willing to go through that and believe you are able to come through intact, go ahead! Answered by unknown - Fri Mar 27 03:13:06 2009 From Yahoo Answer Search: "arts" |
