An organization (or organisation — see spelling differences) is a social arrangement which pursues collective goals, which controls its own performance, and which has a boundary separating it from its environment. The word itself is derived from the Greek word ὄργανον (organon [itself derived from the better-known word ἔργον ergon - work; deed - > ergonomics, etc]) meaning tool. The term is used in both daily and scientific English in multiple ways. In the social sciences, organizations are studied by researchers from several disciplines, the most common of which are sociology, economics, political science, psychology, management, and organizational communication. The broad area is commonly referred to as organizational studies, organizational behavior or organization analysis. Therefore, a number of different theories and perspectives exist, some of which are compatible, and others that are competing.

Asked by coalman280 - Fri Jul 25 03:59:43 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments A. try joining a club that does community service, or if none do, you can become a volunteer in your community and put in a year or two, and once it comes time to attend college, you can ask the people who worked with you for references. Q. I know it's hard to rank one humanitarian group agaisnt another, especially when motives and overall goals are similar. For those of you who are involved with, or have a good knowledge of various organizations, which ones are "the best", in considering groups that are completely non-profit, how helpful their resources are, etc. Asked by patsy36ss - Sat Nov 4 00:14:51 2006 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments A. I believe the "RED CROSS" is the most humanitarian non profit organization in the world. It works in every country supplying food and care every day. It works in every country on a moments notice to respond to public and natural disasters. The Red Cross teams are always the first organized group on the scene actively helping. They hand food and fresh water to the people within hours and supply medical aid funded by regular citizens like us. I have no doubt they are the best and most effective. I have no problems donating to the Canadian Red Cross when called upon to do so. They work because they care and want to do Gods' work. Cheers!
